Are Web Hosting Reviews Really Helpful?

To sustain any online business, the only prerequisite is to have the best web host for your website. A good web host ensures quality of the website and helps you build the market for your brand and business. If your website is fast and free of errors it is bound to attract visitors.

Finding the right web host for your business is really a challenging job. You really need to find the best web host for your business, and for this you can start by reading the reviews of various web host companies available online. There are several web hosting reviews websites.

All these websites accept reviews from the real users, even though you post a negative review about the best web hosting company they feature it without much problems. The purpose of the web hosting review websites is to give the true and clear account of all the various web host companies.

Here are few guidelines to go about the web hosting review websites:

Check the rank of the website on Google search: it will give you a fair idea about the authenticity of the reviews.

You can judge then the authority of the resources.

Check the date of the domain name: to know about the authenticity of the website, check out for the date of the website domain name. You can find it using WhoIs checkup tools available on internet.

Check out for Google Indexed pages: it is really important to check as to how many web pages are indexed on the Google web page. ?

Check out for affiliate links: many of the websites use commission Junction links. In case the URL is different from the affiliated ID, then probably it is the affiliate link.

Check out for negative reviews: it is almost impossible to have all good reviews. If the reviews show all positive comments, then there is probably something wrong with the reviews. If you fall in for one such web host, you are surely to loose some of your valuable customers later or sooner.

The other way you can look out for website hosting reviews is to join some forum where members are really active or join some group discussion. One such forum where people are really helpful and honest is The Warrior Forum. You are sure to find some real good suggestions from real users of various web hosting companies with actual views. This way you can decide which company to choose over the other. But remember; don?t be swayed by the reviews. Use your rationality and make your decision keeping your website and its purpose in mind. It would help you take your business far on the road of success.

SXSW Film Fest Full Of Chills, Thrills And Tears Of Laughter

MTV News wraps up the highlights of the Austin, Texas, festival including our favorite celebrity interviews.

AUSTIN, Texas — Although the South by Southwest Music Festival is just getting started, the film portion of the annual music, arts and interactive gathering in Austin, Texas, is coming to an end. It was too short a trip for our tastes, but we were able to cram in an awful lot of film coverage during our time within the city limits. Before we get to the highlights from SXSW Film Fest '12, here's a compilation of our interviewees' humorous commentary regarding the best and worst things about SXSW.

"The great thing about SXSW is the proliferation of beautiful young men all over the city," deadpanned Nick Offerman. "Now that the sun's out we're going to be seeing some shirts come off. This is a modern film we've made," he said of his film, "Somebody Up There Likes Me," trying to tie it to his answer. "Nature is beautiful."

"#1: It's in Austin, that's the best," said Johnny Knoxville. "The Fest feels like it's picking up steam every year."

"There was one day where from around 11 a.m. 'til whenever I went to bed I think I had — I counted — 28 beers," "21 Jump Street" star Jonah Hill recalled of his first boozy experience at the festival a few years back. "I was never drunk, it was such a long period of time, there was a good old buzz thing going on for 20 hours."

"My favorite thing so far is waiting in line with other people," admitted "Jump Street" co-director Chris Miller. "At first it was driving me crazy, but ... you're there for an hour with people who all like the same stuff and have a much cooler conversation there than you would in a bar."

"The cons of SXSW are all the beautiful young women getting in the way of looking at all the beautiful young men," Offerman continued. "Prancing about, tossing their hair like they're all that. They're not."

With those pros and cons in mind, let's get back to our film-focused journey in Austin, which we began with the Joss Whedon-scripted, Drew Goddard-directed festival opener, "The Cabin in the Woods." Although it is a traditional horror film with "thrilling deaths," it's a crowd-pleaser nonetheless.

Then came the twisted thriller "Killer Joe," which features many an opportunity for awkward laughter and smooth-talkin' Matthew McConaughey as a killer-for-hire, followed by a surprise appearance from Mark Wahlberg during Seth MacFarlane's "A Conversation With" panel, which led to a very casual interview about Wahlberg's acting skills and falling in love with a teddy bear. After that, we walked down a dark childhood memory lane with "Nature Calls" director Todd Rohal and stars Johnny Knoxville and Rob Riggle.

We spent time with skateboarding legend Danny Way during his surprise visit to a local skate park, and tried not to laugh ourselves to tears during chats with "Small Apartments" scene-stealer Matt Lucas and deadpan comedy ace Nick Offerman when he told us the best thing about his buzzworthy film, "Somebody Up There Likes Me" is the fact that he gets naked onscreen. We're still not sure he was telling the truth, but it was hilarious nonetheless.

Our final day of film-related action involved a visit to "21 Jump Street" with stars Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum, who revealed the project's special ties to SXSW, as well as their reactions to finally seeing the finished film with an audience.

We chatted up Fabianne Therese, the star of the recently picked-up home invasion thriller "The Aggression Scale," who accidentally put her hand through a glass window during filming and resulted in the filmmakers writing it into the script. And then we caught up with the men of "Extracted," an intriguing film about a man who invents a way to watch people's memories from inside their minds and then gets trapped within a criminal's mind.

"I think [the movie] means something to everybody," director Nir Paniry said. "To me, it's a film about regret and how one memory means something to somebody else and one memory means something to another person. Memories are not finite records, they're organic, they can be manipulated, but they're specific to the person. Your memory of something is not my memory of something."

"It's life. All these things that are universal and timeless," added star Sasha Roiz. "Trying to confront your past or changing your course of life, redemption. These two men are basically sitting in their own purgatory, one is stuck in a cell, one is stuck in the mind of another man. There all these wonderful themes that bubble to the surface.

And although it's not technically film-related, we spent some time with Lena Dunham, the star/creator/executive producer of HBO's heavily hyped new series "Girls," which she promises is grounded in reality and deals with the drama of modern romantic relationships.

All in all, our experience was fun-filled, if a tad bit exhausting. For those of you hankering to see the films in our lineup, the good news is that several of them are headed to theaters or small screens near you.

"21 Jump Street" opened everywhere Friday (March 16); "Cabin in the Woods" hits theaters April 13; "Girls" premieres on HBO April 15, followed by the DVD/Blu-Ray release of "The Aggression Scale" on May 29. Seth MacFarlane's live-action debut "Ted" hits theaters July 13.

Stick with MTV News for news about the fest's other buzzworthy entries, "Somebody Up There Likes Me," "Killer Joe" and "Extracted."

NY state lawmakers to allow casino gambling

(Reuters) - New York state lawmakers have agreed to legalize public casinos and will amend the state constitution to allow seven new casinos to operate, lawmakers said on Wednesday.

The location of the new casinos will be decided in 2013.

New York currently only allows table gambling in Native American resorts. The state also allows companies to open and run video lottery terminals at so-called racinos in the city of Yonkers and in the New York City borough of Queens.

"We are finally confronting the reality that while New York is already in the gaming business, we need a real plan to regulate and capitalize on the industry," said New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, after the casino agreement was reached.

"This is a process that will ultimately put thousands of New Yorkers to work, drive our economy, and help keep billions of dollars spent by New Yorkers on gaming in the state," Cuomo said in a statement.

The proposal has been debated for more than a decade. Details on the casinos will be determined in 2013.

"We will deal with where, when and how next year in legislation," said Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver in Albany.

New York can only legalize casinos if two successively elected legislatures enact bills. Voters would then have to approve a constitutional amendment legalizing this form of gambling.

"I am pleased we have reached an agreement to move forward with a constitutional amendment that will give New Yorkers a say on whether we expand casino gaming in New York State," Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos said.

New casinos with table games could prove stiff competitors to counterparts in New Jersey's Atlantic City, Pennsylvania and Connecticut because the New Yorkers who now frequent those venues might prefer to gamble closer to home.

PENSION DEAL IN WORKS

Another possible deal was also in the works for one of the governor's other priorities: cutting the cost of contributions by the state and municipalities to the pension fund.

Silver said he expected the retirement age to be raised by one year to 63, instead of 65 as requested by Cuomo. Police officers and firefighters are not expected to be covered by the provision.

The minimum salary that determines when workers have to contribute to the plan should be $45,000, Silver said, not the $30,000 threshold recommended by Cuomo.

The amount of pension contributions public employees make would start at 3.5 percent, then rise on a sliding scale to 6 percent for salaries of $100,000 or more, while caps on how much overtime could be used to calculate pension benefits would not be reduced, Silver said.

Kick-In-The-Pants Job Search | Making Money Point.com

Believe it: three obstacles will hold you back from your ideal job ? your resume, you, and your job-search methods. There?s no hidden formula; there?s no bribery needed; there?s no one standing in front of employment ? other than YOU!

You?ve probably heard all the excuses, or used them yourself. The job market is bad; technical jobs are going overseas; those thousands of manufacturing employees had to go somewhere ? of course, these excuses are only the tip of the iceberg.

Look at the job market as challenging. Who doesn?t love a good challenge? The current state of the market means that you must job search smarter. Do you have something against learning? We are always overcoming obstacles in our personal and professional lives, so why should today be any different.

You?re also probably thinking, ?Well there are no jobs, so why bother.? Rubbish! The service industry (specifically small business) is driving the employment industry with record job increases for the last several months. Maybe you meant to think, ?There are no jobs in my field.? Honestly, rethink that excuse as well. There are jobs; you haven?t found them but your competitors probably have. Jobs aren?t spewing out of cracker-jack boxes or being announced by executives holding signs on a street corner. The jobs that are worth having require effort.

What?s wrong with my resume?

There may be nothing wrong with your resume, but how do you know? Who?s been your resume expert: you, family members, or friends? Everyone has a specific expertise so don?t be afraid to solicit the help of a professional. The career industry is now represented by career coaches, interview trainers, and resume writers. Just as you?re an expert in your field, you should recognize that there is someone to assist with whatever career obstacle you face ? whether it?s your resume, cover letter, or some other dated job-search technique you?re utilizing.

What?s wrong with my job-search techniques?

There may be nothing wrong with your job-search techniques, but how do you know? Are you experiencing a bit of d?j? vu? If your resume and job-search techniques are tanking, you need to regroup and try new strategies. Job searching is not a science, hence the reason there are countless books and articles written on the topic. The strategies used by one software engineer may not work, or may work faster, for another. You should understand that there are variables to each job seeker, such as target location, length of experience, lack of or too much education, and so on. You must devise job-search techniques that work for you.

What?s wrong with my cover letter?

There are so many unprofessional, unfocused, and canned cover letters floating around the job-seeking population that it?s no surprise that they?re barely read. Who wants to spend valuable time reading a cover letter that sounds like it was written for the company next door? How many times have you inserted the person?s name within your content somewhere or written company-specific sentences that focused on the problems the company was facing that you intend to resolve, a new contract that was landed, or maybe a recent merger? Write your cover letters using a conversational language that sounds like it has been written for one recipient.

What about my interviewing skills?

Have you ever heard, ?if I can only get to the interview?? Really! Think of your job search as a chain of events. The cover letter represents the resume. The resume represents you. The interview is a follow up to the resume doing its job. To obtain an interview, the resume and cover letter must first serve the purpose each was designed to do. Good or bad, a resume will eventually draw attention, but what if you are caught with mediocre interviewing skills that throw your resume and cover letter efforts out the window? The entire process is a chain that cannot be broken. Any break can cause less than favorable results.

I challenge you to sit down right now and make a list of 10 interviewing questions. To make things interesting, devise thorough and results-focused answers to each of these questions within the next 20-30 minutes. Can?t do it? If you can?t on your own time, then you?re not going to be able when under pressure and under examination.

Excuses are a dime a dozen ? and if you look for them during failure, you?re going to continuously be put in a position to fail. They?re equivalent to that little voice that puts doubt and ?what ifs? in your head. They?re not productive, they?re not valuable, and they?re certainly not positive. The next time you?re asked, ?What?s holding you back?? You can answer, ?ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!? Go get ?em!

Consumers shell out for small farm eggs | Sonora / Tuolumne News ...

Deborah Kalkowski didn?t get into the egg business on purpose.

Kalkowski said her children first talked her into adding chickens about a year ago at their 50-acre Groveland farm, Red Tail Ranch, where they already kept horses. They built a coop for 16 chickens, which helped keep the bug population under control and provided fresh eggs for the family.

Kalkowski said she started giving extra eggs to friends and neighbors, and an enterprise was born.
??

?It?s a lot easier than I thought it would be,? Kalkowski said last week. ?I can?t keep up with the demand. Groveland is a small community. Word of mouth gets around pretty quick around here.?

Kalkowski will soon be one of a handful of farmers in the county who produce and sell fresh eggs to local customers as a side enterprise or part of a running farm. She registered her business name in recent weeks and is in the process of adding about 32 chickens to her property so that she can keep up with demand.

Kalkowski?s chickens are free range and roam the ranch during the day. She said her customers like the free range aspect of the operation, as large-scale poultry farms are often associated with small cages. California voters had a say in that association in recent years when they approved minimum cage sizes for poultry farms.

But Kalkowski also said it often comes down to the taste.

?I think right now, a lot of people are just paying attention to what they eat,? she said. ?I can tell the difference when I scramble the eggs. The yolks are yellower, they?re richer tasting.?

Kalkowski said she is looking into selling at farmers markets, though she?s still ?toying with the idea.?

In order to do that, she?ll have to be registered with the state Department of Food and Agriculture as an egg handler, according to Tuolumne County Agricultural Commissioner Vicki Helmar. Last week, Helmar said five local egg producers are certified to sell eggs at local markets. There are about 15 known small egg producers in the county.

Helmar said all the egg producers in Tuolumne County are small farms, many of which, like Kalkowski?s, sell their extra eggs to friends or neighbors who want the fresh products. The county tries to keep aware of who is producing and selling eggs and inform them of the state regulations.

The state Department of Food and Agriculture monitors quality, grading, size, storage and production. The Tuolumne County Department of Agriculture has brochures and contact information for local egg producers on the rules and registration information.

?For most people, they get started in the egg business because they get their own chickens and they have some extra eggs ? They have a hen house, and they just let them out in the yard,? she said.

That?s how Dennis Kittredge got started at his Sonora area farm. He dove in the egg business about 15 years ago as a ?hobby,? selling to friends and neighbors. Now, he keeps about 300 free-range chickens and produces between 60 and 70 dozen eggs a week.

He sells to natural food stores and supermarkets in Sonora and Twain Harte, as well as at farmers markets.

They have multiple breeds of chickens, which Kittredge said means they produce eggs of all different colors ? white, brown, green and blue.

?My wife won?t buy store eggs anymore,? he said about the quality. ?It?s night and day difference. It?s unbelievable.?

Though there is a downside to buying fresh eggs, one people might notice around Easter.?

?The only bad thing about the farm fresh egg is you can?t hard-boil them. They won?t peel,? Kittredge said.

Spiders in Borneo: Team Salticid

Salticids, commonly known as jumping spiders, are our focus. We are Team Salticid Borneo (unfortunately, we forgot to prepare T-shirts in advance).

Team Salticid

Team Salticid

The four of us have come together from different backgrounds to search for salticids. From left to right in the photo, we are: Ch?ien Lee, a wildlife photographer and naturalist based here in Borneo; Edy Piascik, graduate student at the University of British Columbia; myself, with the goofy smile (anticipating cool salticids); and Alex Ang, a musician from Malaysia with an interest in spiders and scorpions.

Edy and I arrived in Kuching, Sarawak, a few days ago. We have experience in looking for salticids, but not Ch?ien and Alex, and so we?ve been going out on day trips from Kuching as a rehearsal for our foray deeper into Borneo. This also helps us to check out our equipment and recover our field legs. Tomorrow Eddy, Alex and I fly to our main field site, Mulu National Park. Ch?ien will be leaving us, after having helped us set up the expedition and taught us so much about Borneo natural history. My hope is that I?ve infected him with a love for these spiders.

Agorius

An Agorius jumping spider. Copyright Ch'ien Lee

He?s also been taking amazing photos of the jumping spiders we?ve been collecting during our rehearsal. Here?s a stunning portrait of an Agorius, a strange local salticid whose body looks like that of an ant. It?s holding up its first pair of legs, the way an ant holds its antennae. Since Ch?ien won?t be coming to Mulu with us, don?t expect such beautiful photos as this for the remaining posts. But, you?ll still be able to see how amazing these creatures are.
