Fear of commitment, or commitment phobia is one form of the greater, more complex psychological phenomenon of mental illness called Anxiety Disorders. Although literally it is only one of many forms of the disorders, in reality it is the most common phobias that affect people nowadays. Statistically estimated, the numbers of people who have the disease now have been increased to almost four times greater compared to two centuries ago, especially among men. Apparently the current lifestyles as well as the convenience of modern living do not help men much to feel more secure about themselves.

Unless both sides are willing to stop for a while and do self-introspection to find out what was wrong with their relationship, they won?t be able to break that cycle and their relationship will eventually end bitterly.

So, what to do if you suspect that your significant one suffer commitment phobia? First thing first, decide for yourself how important the relationship means to you. If you value it more than anything in the world, then you must be prepared for the long and winding road ahead because in many cases, curing a man with commitment phobia is not easy, even when he is willing to cooperate. But if not, if you are not very sure whether he is ?the one?, then it would be better for you to leave the relationship behind and find a new guy that has no commitment issues. Be sure to carefully check for the signs of commitment phobia this time so that you would not have to be stumbled on the same rock again.
